New ADA Codes
The new Current Dental Terminology © American Dental Association dental procedure codes are used nationally by dentists to report dental services performed for their patients to insurance companies. Insurance companies use these codes to process claims. Third-party payers nationwide recognize the codes.
On January 1, 2013, the new Current Dental Terminology (CDT) dental procedure codes will take effect. We have updated our claims-paying system with these procedure codes. Plan members can continue to visit their dentist and have claims filed as usual. Dental plans will not change, so dental certificates will not be reissued.
The 2013 version of the CDT codes is effective for services provided on or after January 1, 2013, through December 31, 2013. Our customers can rest assured that we will continue to process their claims efficiently and accurately through this routine update, and provide them with information for their dental benefit needs.
On NEW BUSINESS starting 7/6/12: Billing and eligibility for most plans with 25 or fewer enrolled lives are now provided by HealthPlan Services, Inc. Ameritas Group will continue to administer most plans for groups with 26 or more enrolled lives.
